PC-Xware integrates UNIX and Windows on the PC in the familiar MicrosoftWindows environment. With Folder tabs, users can conveniently navigatethrough PC-Xware's features to display UNIX graphic and character-basedapplications alongside local PC applications, transfer UNIX files totheir PC, and print UNIX documents to a local printer.PC-Xware features a 32-bit PC X server, Telnet for VT320 terminalemulation, an integrated 32-bit VxD TCP/IP stack, support for 15 otherTCP/IP protocols including WinSock, and XRemote for serial lineconnections. To help administer the software, PC-Xware includes siteinstallation capabilities, and remote diagnostic and configurationcontrol.PC-Xware's server is based on NCD's industry-leading X terminal software,NCDware. Beyond full X11R5 compliance, PC-Xware also includes broad fontsupport, Network Audio System to display and play audio-supportedapplications, and Simple Image Extension (SIE) to manipulate images.For a complete connectivity suite, PC-Xware is also available with eitherNetPack or NetPackNFS options. NetPack provides users with TN3270terminal emulation, FTP, SMTP mail, and a POP2 mail server. NetPackNFSoffers the same features plus NFS to let users transfer files betweentheir PC and host computer(s) or other PCs.
